Concert
Three generations come together through music to show the resilience of the human spirit in inhuman conditions. Cantor Beny Maissner and Toronto musicians will perform rescued music of the Holocaust, compiled by internationally known Maestro Francesco Lotoro. Selections include songs of Cantor Maissner’s uncle, Israel Alter, chief cantor of Hanover Germany who escaped in 1935. Voices of child inmates of the Terezin ghetto will be remembered through the Victory March of the children’s opera Brundibar.
Presented in partnership with the Istituto di Letteratura Musicale Concentrazionaria
