The Legacy of the Yiddish writer  Dvoyre Fogel (1900-1942) / Yiddish-Language Lecture

דאָס לעבן און שאַפֿן פֿון דבֿרה פֿאָגעל: עדות

פֿון חורבן

Among the millions of Jews who perished in the Holocaust were many significant Yiddish writers who today are mostly forgotten. One of them was Debora Vogel, murdered in the Lwów ghetto at the age of 42. In transmitting the literary legacy of this extraordinary woman we pull a whole culture from the shards of the past into the light of the future. This lecture will be in Yiddish.

Anastasiya Lyubas is a Research Fellow in Modern Literature and Culture at Ryerson University. In 2018 she received her PhD in Comparative Literature from Binghamton University. She teaches the advanced Yiddish classes of the UJA Committee for Yiddish.  Her forthcoming books on Debora Vogel will both be published in 2019.
