Publisher Margie Wolfe and Israeli journalist, Pnina Zvi, two second generation cousins, will look at the importance of connecting children today with stories of the Holocaust as they present their acclaimed new book, “The Promise,” about their mothers in Auschwitz and explore the question of Holocaust literature for children. The program includes a meaningful candlelighting ceremony memorializing those murdered in the shtetl of Wierzbnik during the Holocaust.
Margie Wolfe’s company Second Story Press publishes Holocaust books for children including “Hana’s Suitcase.” Pnina Bat Zvi is an Israel journalist with a daily radio programme and director of documentaries and investigative reports for television. Their mothers were sisters who survived the Holocaust. “The Promise” is their story.
