Looking for an exciting and inspiring summer educational experience? Spend a week in Europe immersed in the rich Jewish history and culture of Vienna while exploring the modern city.
Experience Jewish Life in Vienna is a unique trip for young professionals to learn about the city's past, experience its present, and dialogue about the future.
Subtitled “Past, Present and Future,” the program brings young professionals from Canada is to experience Vienna’s current, thriving, dynamic Jewish community in the context of the city’s dark past while dialoguing with community members, civic leaders, academics, experts and peers about the future.
Trip Highlights Include:
- 7 days in the beautiful and historic city of Vienna
- Day trip to Mauthausen concentration camp and site of Nazi “euthanasia” killings
- Walking tour of Jewish Vienna
- Meetings with current professionals engaged in Holocaust studies, memory and politics
- Meet-ups with young Austrians
- Friday night services in the city temple

The Neuberger's signature Vienna Trip for Young Professionals has run successful tours in 2014 & 2015. Participants have returned with fresh perspectives on Jewish life and modern Europe. It has sparked interest in furthering their knowledge on the Holocaust and increased their desire to participate in Jewish programming in their communities. Program alumna Abigail Bimman, a journalist based in Kitchener, ON, wrote about the trip for the Canadian Jewish News.
Participants are responsible for their own airfare to and from Vienna and a non-refundable program fee of $650. All successful applicants will be interviewed and all final participants will be expected to participate in every component of the program, including pre-visit orientations / education sessions.
Program fee includes hotel (based on double occupancy), two meals a day, entrance fees / admission, and transportation.
